PRESIDENT & ADVISER Bruce Porter
Bruce Porter grew up in Lebanon, Missouri. His interest in business began at a young age while working at his family’s farm and real estate business. He attended Missouri State University on a pole-vaulting scholarship. After several years with a prominent national insurance company — where he became a top salesman and was later promoted to sales management — Bruce established his own company, The Resource Center, in 2001.
As an independent firm, The Resource Center has access to a variety of products and services to help meet client needs. As a small business, it offers a personal touch and a deep appreciation for the impact each client has on its continued growth.
A man of faith, Bruce is an active member of Fellowship Bible Church in Rogersville, Missouri, where he participates in various church activities and community outreach. His commitment to giving back is evident in his support for several local charities, including Help Give Hope, CASA, Southwest Industries Foundation/Sheltered Workshop, The Gathering Tree, Victory Mission, Care to Learn and Shepherd’s Staff.
In December 2018, Bruce’s first book, “Finding the Courage to Retire,” was published. He also shares financial advice and tips as a regular guest on “Unscripted,” a local lifestyle show on KOLR 10, airing Tuesdays at 9 a.m. In 2024, Bruce was honored with the Noble Achievement Award by American Equity for his exemplary service in the financial services industry.
